Golden Milk

(aka Haldi wala doodh)
Turmeric latte


  • 5-6 raw cashews
  • 1-2 tbsp mixed melon seeds( चार मगज)

Option: If you want to make milk with only cashew, then take 10 pieces of cashews.If you opt for only melon seeds, then take 3tbs of mixed melon seeds.

  • 1-2 soaked Majdool dates ( as per taste)
  • ½-1 tbsp of organic turmeric powder
  • ½-1 tbsp of cardamom powder
  • 2-3 cloves
  • A small pinch of black pepper
  • 1-2 tbsp soaked saffron water
  • 1 cup of water

Garnishing ( optional)

  • Add tbsp of shelled hempseeds to make it creamier and more nutritional


  • Preparation a night before- Soaking Wash & overnight soak the nut & seeds. Wash & soak the dates in very little water. (As water becomes very sweet, do not throw the water) Soak 10-12 saffron strands in 1/4 cup of water(place in the refrigerator)
  • Morning - washing & blending Wash the nuts & seeds well. Deseed the dates. Add all the ingredients to a blender (other than the cloves) Blend till you get the creamy texture.
  • Heating Pour the milk into a pan and heat at a medium/ low flame. Mix well & bring it to a gentle boil. Pour into a mug, and sit in a silent, peaceful place.


10 cashew = 80 cal
1 Majdool date = 60 cal
Total =140 cal approx
If making milk with only melon seeds
3tbs melon seeds =70 cal
1 Majdool date = 60 cal
Total =130 cal approx
Soy /almond milk also works well to make the golden milk
